Regardless of the process that your loan servicer requires, it is the Learner’s responsibility for ensuring that they follow their loan servicer’s process and meet their requirements for in-school deferments. The Registrar’s Office can squire with the completion of any loan servicer required forms and can provide a letter verifying the Learner’s current status with the university, when asked.The validity to legitimatize or deny in-school deferment requests lies solely with the loan servicer, not with CalSouthern or its staff. CalSouthern will squire with completing any information a learner’s loan servicer requires and, when towardly to do so, will update the learner’s information in the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).UnstipulatedIn-School Deferment Process Contact Your Student Loan ServicerCalSouthern does not have the validity to render decisions on in-school deferments. That validity lies solely with your loan servicer. Therefore, the first step in the in-school deferment process is unchangingly for you to contact your loan servicer to inquire well-nigh their requirements for in-school deferments. When you contact your loan servicer, you will wontedly be told one of three things.1.Well-constructedIn-School Deferment FormSome loan servicers will require that students well-constructed in-school deferment forms. When completing the forms, please make sure you well-constructed sections 1-3 and that you sign and stage the form at the end of section 3. Typically, these forms require information from your current school. If this is the specimen with your loan servicer, please include those forms with your signed and completed CalSouthern In-School Deferment Information Form. These forms should be sent to the CalSouthern Registrar’s Office. You can wangle the in-school deferment form here.2. Enrollment VerificationSome loan servicers may not require forms, but instead will ask for a letter of verification from your current school verifying your enrollment and student status. National Student Load Data System (NSLDS) UpdateSome loan servicers may not require any paperwork up front, but will request that your current school certify your information in the NSLDS system online. The form should then be submitted to the CalSouthern Registrar by email to: DefermentRequest@calsouthern.edu or by fax to: (714) 882-7866.Processing by the CalSouthern RegistrarOnce all required documentation is received, please indulge five merchantry days for the CalSouthern Registrar to process your information and properly certify you in the NSLDS.Please note: The information that will be certified in the NSLDS regarding your student status at CalSouthern will be the status at the time all the required documentation is received.Follow-UpOnce your information is certified in the NSLDS, if you would like to follow-up regarding the loan servicer’s visualization regarding your in-school deferment request, please contact your loan servicer directly. CalSouthern does not have the validity to render decisions on in-school deferments. Those decisions are made solely by the loan servicer.
